    Safadi and Sajjan discuss regional developments and cooperation

    Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister, and Canadian International Development Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan discussed ways of expanding joint economic cooperation and taking advantage of Jordanian skills on the Canadian labor market.

    Safadi and Sajjan discuss regional developments and cooperationDuring their talks in Amman, Safadi and Sajjan stressed effective coordination channels in the development fields and a desire to develop strong friendly relations between the two nations. In relation to refugee-related burdens, Safadi praised Canada’s efforts to help the Kingdom in its development process and to address economic challenges.

    Safadi thanked Canada for its support of UNRWA, emphasizing that the agency must be able to carry out its duties in accordance with its UN mandate by continuing to receive the necessary assistance. They discussed regional and international issues of common interest and efforts to resolve the region’s crises, according to the Foreign Ministry.

    Sajjan stated that his country is keen to enhance cooperation relations with the Kingdom, expressing his country’s appreciation for the Kingdom’s role in bolstering regional security and stability. In Jordan, Canada is currently implementing a variety of development projects related to energy, water, environment and education through the Sustainable Energy and Economic Development Project (SEED).
